Definitions

Analyzed NetDB Entries:: Amount of entries in its netDB the I2P Observer has analyzed to build the statistic. This number is identical with all entries available to it. It is likely that this amount is not the total of all routers participating in the I2P network.
NetDB: The network database (short: netDB) is the database in which I2P stores all information about participants. It contains routerInfo (with information about a specific router) and leaseSets (with information about a specific target, e.g. a website).
Router: An I2P router is simply a computer that runs an instance of the I2P Software and therefore participating in the I2P network. The I2P Observer displays the highest number of routers any floodfil router advertises.
Floodfil Router: A floodfil router is a special kind of router which additionally collects netDB entries and participate in their distribution. If a router wants to learn new routerInfo or leaseSets, it queries a floodfil router.
leaseSet: Dataset of the netDB in which information for a specific service is stored, like its address, how to reach it and encryption information (e.g. public key). It is created by the router the service is running on and then send to a floodfil router for distribution in the I2P network. A service can be anything that can be reachable over I2P, like a website, a mail server, a forum etc.
routerInfo: Similar to the leaseSet, the routerInfo stores information about a specific router and how to contact it.

Import Errors

As stated on the statistic pages, it is possible that errors occur during import of the netDB files or the processing of data. This is due to the way I2P Observer works by importing the files in the netDB folder of the running I2P router. This can fail if they are altered the moment I2P Observer wants to read them. If more than 20 errors occur during import or processing of data for daily statistics, the entry is then marked with (!) to indicate that it is more inaccurate, although this does not specify the level of inaccuracy. Monthly statistics are marked accordingly if 3 or more entries contain errors.
